Wholly uninhabited and untouched.

A paradise of limestone karsts, emerald lagoons, and seas teeming with marine life, Wayag Island is Raja Ampat’s natural icon. Also known as ‘Pulau Wajag,’ covering 155,000 hectares, Wayag offers some of the most biodiverse waters in the world. It is also only accessible by boat, making it an exclusive and intimate yachting destination.

Most yachting trips to Wayag start at Sorong, the gateway to Raja Ampat, making stops at nearby islands before reaching Wayag. Once in Wayag has some incredible sets of islets, hidden lagoons, and pristine beaches, each more breathtaking than the last.

Eagle Rock, a renowned dive site, is a must-visit for a close encounter with manta rays, reef sharks, and barracudas. For a less challenging diving experience, Wayag’s Gate has calmer waters and stunning coral formations with occasional manta sightings.

Alternatively, hike up Pindito Peak to have panoramic views over the entire Raja Ampat archipelago. Though the ascent is steep and rocky, the effort is worth it. Witnessing the sight of Wayag’s mushroom-shaped karsts rising from turquoise waters is nothing short of spectacular.

After a day of exploration, unwind on one of Wayag’s secluded white-sand beaches. Pack a beachside picnic and stay until sunset, when the golden light transforms the island into a dreamscape of soft pinks and oranges.
