Tobago Cays: A jewel of the southern Grenadines

The Tobago Cays has long been known among seasoned yacht charterers and sailors as one of the Caribbean's most spectacular and crowdless locations. This is thanks to its lack of direct air access and limit of 150 vessels at a time. Tobago Cays is part of the Grenadines that stretches 68 miles from St. Vincent to Grenada. Petit Rameau, Petit Bateau, Baradal, Petit Tobac, and Jamesby Island are part of the Tobago Cays Marine Park, which has five main islands and attractions in Tobago Cays.

Yacht charters in the Tobago Cays are a top choice, especially during the busy winter season. The heart of the Tobago Cays Marine Park is its stunning 1,400-acre lagoon, framed by the famous Horseshoe Reef. Thanks to ongoing conservation efforts, this area remains one of the most breathtaking spots in the Caribbean—a true haven for nature lovers. The cays in the area are also uninhabited and surrounded by Union Island, Mayreau, and Canouan.

Scuba divers will also not want to miss this place's diving experience. Swimming with green and hawksbill turtles is always guaranteed in the protected waters of Baradal. Meanwhile, the World's End Reef is where, at 70ft, you can find nurse sharks and spotted eagle rays swimming in formation. For a bit of history mixed with marine life, check out the Purunia Wreck, a 140-foot WWI British gunship that sank in 1918 off the western coast of Mayreau. Nearby, the Mayreau Gardens are another must-visit dive site. For the more advanced diver, the underwater world of Sail Rock is your playground.

After you have your fill of snorkelling and scuba diving, you can relax on the deck of your yacht to observe the winged beauties of nesting seabirds in Catholic Rock Bird Sanctuary. Or perhaps have a shot at another adventure, hiking the crisscrossing the islands of Petit Rameau and Petit Bateau. Don't miss Petit Tabac, the iconic spot where they filmed the desert island scene from Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

The best way to truly soak in the beauty of the Cays is aboard a charter yacht, where you can take your time exploring. Ready for an unforgettable adventure? Check out the luxury yachts and superyachts available for charter.
