Papua New Guinea is a charming nation with preserved cultures that are older than time while coexisting with nature's finest. With over 600 islands and 70% of its land remaining forested, much of Papua New Guinea's biome is as immaculate as it can be, making it an exciting yachting destination.

Most of Papua New Guinea is untrodden and inaccessible. The country is also surrounded by some of the most bio-diverse seas: the Coral Seas in the southeast, the Bismarck Sea in the northeast, and the Solomon Seas in the East. This makes it a frontier of raw beauty and uncharted adventures best explored by yacht.

Beginning at Port Moresby, located on the southern coast of Papua New Guinea, stroll its bustling streets dotted with quaint markets, illuminating galleries, and modern marinas. From here, travel across the country and charter the uncharted.

At the serene island of Sohano in the Bougainville Region, its monochromatic green palette framed by white sands and blue waters is truly a sight to behold. It can't help to feel at ease and laid-back in this paradise. Nearby, the autonomous region of Bougainville has incredible coral reefs, lush tropical jungle, and vibrant culture. Some activities available are snorkelling at Buka Passage, hiking Mt. Balbi, and historical tours around Torokina. Engaging with local festivals and cultural shows is a fun way to learn about the indigenous tribes and traditions. One of the most celebrated festivals here is the Bougainville Chocolate Festival, where farmers showcase their best chocolate, a treat for sweet tooths.

Next, The Bismarck Archipelago offers one of the best diving spots in the world. The archipelago includes New Britain and New Ireland islands, known for its teeming marine life and wreck diving spots. Cape Vogel and Hansa Bay are excellent starters, holding numerous WWII Japanese ships and planes. In New Britain, Rabaul offers a fascinating story of resilience. Being inside the caldera of the Rabaul Volcano, the town had its number of devastating eruptions before and after being rebuilt. Time and time again, Rabaul stands as fiery and strong as the nature surrounding it. It is also close to Simpson Harbor, home to about 65 Japanese WWII wrecks. On the other side of the Bismarck Sea, Manus Island adds the first interstellar meteor to its allure of sunken relics. Remnants of IM1, or Interstellar Meteor 1, are said to be still deep within the waters of Manus Island. All together, these sites combine history, biodiversity, and adventure.

For a more secluded experience, cruise to the D'Entrecasteaux Islands, about 50 kilometres east of Port Moresby. Their rugged terrain is perfect for a daring hike, while their dense jungles provide opportunities to spot endemic species, like the beautiful Papuan dwarf kingfisher.
