A symphony of sun, sea, and endless horizons
Australia is the largest island continent, known for its unique and diverse landscapes. With its golden beaches, green rainforests, crystal-blue waters, and red-ochre cliffs, it is one of the 17 mega-biodiverse countries. It is home to nearly 600,000 endemic species, including kangaroos, koalas, and platypus. It also boasts the Great Barrier Reef, the world's most extensive reef system. All of these make yachting in Australia all the more exciting.
With over 34,000 kilometres of coastline, chartering Australia's stunning shores must start at the quintessential Whitsunday Islands, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Blending luxurious relaxation and exploration, Airlie Beach embraces its visitors with some of the world's finest marinas. From there, Whitsundays' magnificent 74 islands await exploration. Hardy Reef is an excellent starter for exploring the colourful underwater wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. Whitehaven Beach is famed for its pure white silica sand against the graceful ripples of turquoise waters. At the same time, Hamilton Island offers a scenic beach escape and sparkling nightlife. These are just a few of the marvels of the Whitsundays Islands.
Then, off to Western Australia and its dazzling extremes. Bordered by the Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean, it is home to the vast untapped wilderness. Perfect for whale-watching excursions, hiking, surfing, and island hopping in some of the most remote areas in the world. Perth is the sunniest city on earth and the thriving capital of Western Australia. It is also called "the City of Lights" after astronaut John Glenn saw its lights during orbit. Then, just across the bay is Rottnest Island, a haven for the adorable quokka, the happiest animal in the world!
North of Perth is the city of Broome, the gateway to the untamed Kimberley, known for its captivating wilderness. The Kimberley region contains fossils over 1.8 billion years old, adding to its allure. Sail to the stunning gorges and waterfalls of Cygnet Bay or Talbot Bay and marvel at their calming beauty. At Kingfisher Islands, several dolphins and whales find refuge. Around its mountainous terrains, there are hundreds of endemic flora.
Some distant destinations are Tasmania and Christmas Island. Tasmania's quirky charm and dramatic coastline offer incredible experiences, from natural wonders like Cradle Mountain to historical sites like the Port Arthur Historic Site. Do not forget to visit Bruny Island to meet lovely fairy penguins and white wallabies. Christmas Island is famed for its annual red crab migration and is often called the "Galapagos of the Indian Ocean." The island is also home to a number of hidden coves, diving spots, and waterfalls.
Then, finally, a journey across Australia won't be complete without a touchdown in Sydney and its bustling and vibrant Sydney Harbour. Cruising the Circular Quay will give you a picture-perfect view of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Whether exploring its remote coasts or cities, one thing would be sure: there is nothing like Australia.

When?
The peak yachting season in Australia, from December to February, offers glorious weather and vibrant coastal atmospheres, particularly in iconic regions like Sydney Harbour, Queensland's Great Barrier Reef, and Western Australia's Margaret River coast. During this period, beaches, attractions, and restaurants across the country are buzzing with activity.
Shoulder seasons from October to November and March to April bring milder temperatures and fewer crowds, ideal for exploring popular destinations like Tasmania, the Whitsundays, or Melbourne’s coastline, often accompanied by more competitive pricing and increased yacht availability.
